Why Family Heritage Group’s Agent Training Program Sets You Up for Success

At Family Heritage Group (FHG), we believe that training is the foundation of every successful agent’s career. That’s why our Agent Training Program is comprehensive, hands-on, and truly sets us apart from local competitors. Whether you’re just starting your career or looking to take your skills to the next level, we provide the guidance and support needed to thrive.

Mentorship: A Key to Your Success

One of the most unique aspects of our training program is the mentorship system. Every new agent is paired with an experienced mentor—an active FHG agent who has worked in the field and understands the intricacies of the job. These mentors are not just instructors—they are invested in your success. They only earn when you earn, so they’re fully dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.

Your mentor will be your daily point of contact, offering ongoing support and guidance throughout your career. They will ensure you feel confident and capable as you learn the ropes, and you’ll never feel alone in your journey. Their goal is your financial success, and they will be by your side every step of the way.

A Hands-On, Real-World Training Experience

Our training program is not just about classroom lessons or virtual modules—it’s about real, live, hands-on experience. After the initial setup and introductions, your training will begin with two consecutive days of field training.

On Day One, you’ll meet with your mentor to review the basics: how to navigate our quoting and application tools, manage leads, and understand the product presentation process. You’ll learn how to handle the field underwriting process, develop price quotes, and complete applications. Once you have the foundational knowledge, it’s time to go into the field!

During your first day of fieldwork, you’ll shadow your mentor, observing them as they set appointments, conduct presentations, and close sales. This “live and unscripted” experience is something that’s unavailable with most local agencies, where training tends to be limited to virtual or classroom formats. You’ll witness firsthand how a seasoned agent builds relationships, makes sales, and manages leads—all while asking questions and getting immediate feedback. This kind of learning is invaluable and is a crucial part of your early development.

Independent Practice with Expert Guidance

On Day Two, the roles reverse. Your mentor will shadow you as you conduct the same process of setting appointments, making presentations, and completing sales. As you take on more responsibility, your mentor will be there to guide you—providing advice, answering questions, and offering instruction to ensure you’re developing the skills you need to work independently.

It’s important to note that two days of training will never be enough to master all the skills required to be a top-performing Final Expense Agent. However, the initial two-day field training is just the beginning of a long-term learning process.

Ongoing Support for Continued Growth

Once your initial training is complete, you will continue to have access to your mentor for ongoing coaching and support. Your mentor will be available to answer questions, help with more complex issues, and provide guidance as you grow in your career. Whether you need a refresher or further fine-tuning, additional training days can be scheduled with your mentor at any time.

At FHG, our agents are independent, but they are never without support. In addition to your mentor, our local office staff and national headquarters team provide additional resources and assistance to help you succeed. From world-class customer service to agent support departments, you’ll always have the tools and guidance you need to thrive.

Invest in Your Future with FHG’s Training Program

At Family Heritage Group, we don’t just teach you how to sell insurance—we teach you how to build a successful, fulfilling career. Our hands-on, mentor-driven approach ensures that you receive the best training possible and ongoing support as you grow. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career, FHG’s training program will set you up for success every day.

How Economic Equity Benefits Both Agents & Clients

For over twenty years, Family Heritage Group (FHG) has proudly provided Final Expense Insurance to individuals and families across New England. Our mission has always been to serve those who need it most—especially those in underserved communities. We’re not just offering insurance; we’re providing a vital service to help families secure financial peace of mind during challenging times.

But the impact of economic equity goes far beyond the clients we serve. By expanding access to career opportunities in financial services for women, people of color, and inner-city residents, we believe we can create a cycle of success that benefits both our agents and the communities they serve.

Serving Underserved Communities

FHG has built a strong foundation by reaching out to those who are often overlooked by traditional financial services. Many of our clients come from low-income or fixed-income backgrounds, face significant pre-existing health conditions, or live in areas that are not served by larger financial institutions. Our approach has always been hands-on, community-focused, and deeply committed to making financial protection accessible to those who need it most.

A Tradition of Local, Personal Service

Our success comes from being a locally based, locally focused organization. We prioritize face-to-face relationships, offering in-person service that feels personal, genuine, and rooted in the community. The “kitchen-table” approach allows us to connect on a deeper level with the people we serve, building trust and understanding. This approach has helped us develop a strong reputation and lasting relationships that have made us an integral part of the communities we serve.

Expanding Economic Opportunity

While our clients are primarily women, people of color, and residents of urban areas, our agent roster has historically not fully reflected this demographic. We recognize that the financial services industry has been predominantly represented by suburban, white men, and we are committed to changing that. We believe that to better serve our diverse clientele, we need to bring in agents who share similar backgrounds and experiences. This representation not only aligns us with the communities we serve but also ensures that the diverse needs of our clients are met with understanding and empathy.

Breaking Down Barriers

Historically, women, people of color, and inner-city residents have faced significant barriers to entering the financial services industry. These barriers can be financial, social, or even psychological, often preventing talented individuals from pursuing rewarding careers. At FHG, we are working to break down these barriers by offering a clear path to success—whether that means providing flexible schedules, comprehensive training, or access to mentorship from seasoned agents.

By opening doors to underrepresented groups, we are not just diversifying our team—we are empowering individuals to create wealth for themselves and their families. Economic equity in our agent team means retaining wealth and stimulating economic activity in the very communities we aim to serve.

The Win-Win: Benefits for Agents and Clients

When agents are empowered and given the opportunity to succeed, they are more motivated to provide top-notch service to their clients. As agents build their careers and increase their earning potential, they also contribute to the long-term economic well-being of their communities. This results in a positive cycle: more financial security for families, more wealth retention within underserved communities, and a more inclusive and representative financial services industry.

The Future of Economic Equity with FHG

At Family Heritage Group, we believe that economic equity is not just a goal—it’s a responsibility. We are proud of the work we’ve done to serve our clients, and we are even more excited about the future, where we can expand the same opportunity to those from underrepresented communities. By offering access to rewarding careers in financial services, we can help create a more inclusive, economically stable future for everyone.

Together, we can build a stronger, more equitable world—one where both our agents and clients thrive.

How Becoming a Final Expense Insurance Agent Can Give You Freedom & Flexibility

When it comes to achieving the work-life balance that so many people strive for, few careers offer the flexibility and freedom that being a Final Expense Insurance Agent does. If you’re looking for a role that lets you call the shots, set your own schedule, and manage your work on your terms, then becoming a Final Expense agent might be your perfect fit. Here’s why this career path offers a unique blend of independence and opportunity.

Set Your Own Schedule

One of the biggest perks of being a Final Expense agent is the ability to shape your own work hours. You get to decide when to book appointments, choose which days to work, and adjust your schedule around your personal life, interests, and responsibilities. This flexibility allows agents to craft a routine that supports their unique lifestyle, making it easier to balance work with family, hobbies, or even other commitments.

Work from Anywhere

This role is fully remote and independent, meaning there’s no commute, no office hours, and no daily requirement to be tied to a physical location. And since meetings and training sessions are offered as resources (not requirements), you’re free to participate as it suits your development and goals.

Responsive to Life’s Unexpected Events

Life is full of surprises, and with a flexible career, you’re free to adapt as they come. If a snowstorm keeps you indoors, a child needs care, or a family member requires support, you can shift your work without the worry of upsetting a supervisor. This role allows you to work when you’re ready and make up the time on your own terms. It’s all about working in a way that fits with your life—no permission needed, no red tape.

Control Over Your Income and Workload

As a Final Expense agent, you have the freedom to scale up or down your activity level to match your goals. Need to boost your income? You can dedicate more time to clients and expand your workload. Want more downtime? Adjust your schedule to make room for what matters to you. Many agents establish routines that allow for intense productivity during certain hours or days, giving them guilt-free time to enjoy personal pursuits the rest of the week. It’s your work style, your way.

Be Your Own Boss

As a Final Expense agent, you’re not just an employee—you’re an independent business owner. You have the pride and satisfaction that comes from building your own success, setting your own goals, and making decisions that drive your career forward. For individuals who crave freedom from the constraints of a traditional office, this role is a perfect fit. Here, disciplined and motivated people thrive, especially those who might feel a bit unconventional for a typical nine-to-five setting.

If you’re ready to take control of your career and live life on your terms, becoming a Final Expense Insurance Agent with Family Heritage Group offers you the independence, flexibility, and sense of fulfillment that comes with running your own business. It’s more than just a job—it’s the freedom to create a life that works for you. Join our team today!

Why Commission-Based Income Offers Unlimited Earning Potential

Imagine a career where your income isn’t limited by an annual salary or an hourly rate but instead grows alongside your efforts, ambition, and goals. This is the beauty of commission-based income with Family Heritage Group. Here, you’re in control of how much you earn, how fast you grow, and how far you can go.

The Freedom to Earn More, Whenever You Want

With commission-based income, you’re empowered to set your own income goals. There’s no cap on commissions at Family Heritage Group—your earnings are entirely performance-based. This means the more policies you sell, the more you make. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned agent, your income reflects your dedication and success. For those who thrive in a goal-oriented environment, this structure is both motivating and rewarding.

Boost Your Income on Your Terms

One of the best parts of commission-based income is that you don’t have to ask for additional hours or wait for a raise. When you have specific goals—saving for a new home, planning a vacation, or covering tuition costs—you can increase your efforts, set your own pace, and watch your income grow. This independence offers a unique level of financial flexibility that you simply don’t get with a traditional salaried job.

Residual Commissions Mean Compounding Income

At Family Heritage Group, your efforts continue to pay off year after year. With residual commissions, you’ll earn renewals for the life of each policy you sell. This means that even if you sell the same number of policies each year, your income will grow because of the compounding effect of residuals. Over time, this structure can create a steady, growing income stream that rewards your hard work long-term.

Control Over Your Future

In a commission-based role, you’re in charge of your own success. You choose when you want to work, how much effort you want to put in, and what goals you want to achieve. Whether you’re looking to supplement your income or build a thriving career, you have the freedom to shape your future.

A commission-based role at Family Heritage Group isn’t just about making a living—it’s about creating a lifestyle of freedom, growth, and unlimited potential. If you’re ready to take control of your earnings and build a career with no ceiling, then commission-based income might be the perfect fit for you. Join us, and let’s make your ambitions a reality!
